On Wednesday night, the five candidates vying for an empty Garrisonville District seat on the Stafford County School Board was decreased to two.

The candidates still in the running are Nanette Kidby and Alvin Martin.

These two will go through another round of interviews Feb. 14 at 6:15 p.m. Extra points to both of them, as well as the school board, for using their Valentine's Day to do this! Not so romantic...

But alas, a school board member is needed to fill the seat, left empty by former school board member Ty Schieber, who took the seat of Stafford Supervisor Mark Dudenhefer, R-Garrisonville.

Dudenhefer, in turn left his seat on the board to pursue a seat in the 2nd District, House of Delegates.

Best of luck to Mrs. Kidby and Mr. Martin!
