Weed Warriors
Friends of the Rappahannock will hold a free event to keep its natural area pristine. FOR has identified more than 12 species of invasive plants on its property, and needs volunteers to help keep them at bay. From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. the FOR is inviting volunteers to a morning session of weed management and learning how to keep our river ecosystems native.
Community Prayer Breakfast
All area church leaders are invited to attend a Community Prayer Breakfast on April 11 at 9:30 a.m. The breakfast will be held at United Faith Christian Ministry (150 Susa Drive, Stafford). This event will be hosted by the Stafford County NAACP and sponsored by Chick-Fil-A, at no cost to the attendees. Please send an RSVP by April 3 to Metria Single at 2ndvicepresident@naacp.org.

Easter Sunday Church Services
Summit Presbyterian Church (256 Shelton Shop Road) will hold an Easter Sunday Celebration of the Resurrection Services at 6:30, 8:30 and 11 a.m. A brunch buffet will follow the 8:30 a.m. service. Their annual Easter egg hunt will be held Easter morning at 10 a.m. on the church grounds, weather permitting. Toddlers to 10-year-olds are invited to participate. Nursery care is available for the 8:30 and 11 a.m. services.

White House Easter Egg Roll
The annual White House Easter Egg Roll will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the South Lawn of the White House. This year’s theme is “Let’s go play,” encouraging America’s youth to lead healthy and active lives. The White House will open the South Lawn to children age 10 and under, along with their families, to enjoy sports, cooking classes, live musical performances, storytelling and the traditional Easter egg roll. All guests will enter the event from the Ellipse and will go through a security screening process. This year, tickets for the Easter Egg Roll will be distributed online. Art Show featuring Kingstowne Area Artists
The Kingstowne Area Artists Association, and other area artists who wish to exhibit, will have a show and sale of their work at the Snyder center from 12 to 5 p.m. A wide variety of media will be displayed, including oils, watercolor and pen and ink. The event will be held at the Snyder Center (6450 South Van Dorn St, Kingstowne), where the event will be free and open to the public.

Spring River Cleanup
Join Friends of the Rappahannock for a morning of picking up trash along the Rappahannock river and local streams. FOR will provide supplies, a site map and lunch — be prepared to drive to your site. Rikki’s Refuge Benefit Golf Tournament
The Second Annual Benefit Golf Tournament will be held to benefit Rikki’s Refuge, a 367-acre no kill, all species animal sanctuary providing food, shelter, medical attention and love to 22 species of homeless animals. The golf tournament begins at 9 a.m.; registration begins at 8 a.m. Participants may register in 4-man teams or individually, with recommendations that teams are registered and paid for by April 1. The tournament will be held at Cannon Ridge Golf Club in Fredericksburg. Contests will be held for the three longest drives, five closest to the hole and a 50/50 raffle, with a variety of prizes to choose from. Stitchery workshop at Kenmore
Enjoy an afternoon of stitching while learning a new technique. The Stitchery Guild, a volunteer organization of The George Washington Foundation, will host a “Master Class” on punch-needle embroidery in the Fleming-Smith Room at Historic Kenmore.
