Mount Vernon’s Eighteenth Century Craft Fair
On Sept. 19, Mount Vernon will be transformed into an Eighteenth Century marketplace for two days during their Craft Fair. Over 40 artisans from all over will demonstrate and sell their wares while costumed interpreters make chocolate from authentic colonial recipes. Gifts of chocolate and spiced drinks are available for sale but Potomac River sightseeing cruises are free. Tickets are $15 for adults, $7 for children and kids under five get in for free. Mount Vernon’s Wine Festival and Sunset Tour
Mount Vernon’s Fall Wine Festival and Sunset Tour will celebrate Virginia wineries from October 2 through October 4, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. each night. For a $30 ticket, participants will be able to sample wines from 17 local wineries, picnic on the mansion lawn and tour the building and cellar, all while listening to live blues music on the Potomac River.
