Sophie Grace Fundraiser
A live band, car show, raffles and “great food specials” will be at the Central Park Applebee’s at 2851 Plank Rd all day to raise funds for Sophie Grace Nelson’s medical fees. Sophie was born October 5, 2008, with Biliary Atresia and Situs Inversus, and recently underwent liver transplant surgery.

African Children’s Choir
FREDERICKSBURG — On Sept. 2 at 6:30 p.m., the African Children’s Choir, a touring group that has performed in Madison Square Garden, the Pentagon, and the United Nations, will present their show at Spotswood Baptist Church. United Way Family Day
Stafford Hospital Center will host United Way Family Day from noon to 4 p.m. at Stafford Hospital Center. This free event will feature family activities, children’s games, food and prizes. United Way participating agencies will be on hand to share information on the ways contributions are used to benefit the community. A girl’s and a boy’s fully supplied backpack will be given away each hour. The hospital is located at 101 Hospital Center Blvd. in North Stafford.

Summer Swan Song Exhibit
The Artists’ Undertaking Gallery in Historic Occoquan presents the “Summer Swan Song” exhibit to feature paintings by Lorie Kagle of Woodbridge and fused glass by David and Dale Barnes of Sterling.
