»  Comments | Post a Comment

STAFFORD — Saffire – The Uppity Blues Women, will hold their final concert ever Nov. 7 at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg.

The group, which consists of Andra Faye, Gaye Adegbalola and Ann Rabson, was formed in 1984. This year marks the group’s 25th anniversary, and final year.

The group members’ individual needs have changed, though their love for one another has not, the group said on its Web site, uppityblueswomen.com.

The group members plan to pursue music individually.

But, the group has several more shows before going their separate ways.

On Oct. 30 and 31, they’ll perform in Vienna at The Barns at Wolf Trap at 8 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. respectively. Then on Nov. 7 they’ll perform at UMW’s Dodd Auditorium at 7 p.m.

To order tickets, visit the group’s Web site for information.
