Gracie Lee Griffis, 72, of Stafford County, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2009 at her residence.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Shackleford; and two brothers, James and Thomas Butler.

Survivors include her husband, Willie "Bud" Griffis; a son, Mark Griffis of Stafford; two daughters, Darlene Griffis, and Denise Martin, both of Stafford; a sister, Pauline Shacklette of Falmouth; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Feb. 26 at 2 p.m., at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, with interment following in Sunset Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow at Stafford Volunteer Rescue Squad, 2147 Jefferson Davis Highway, Stafford.
