Leslie F. Armstrong
Leslie F. Armstrong, 79, of Stafford County, died Sunday, March 22, 2009, at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in King George.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Lillie Armstrong; four brothers, Orian, George, Horace and Alton; and a sister, Violet Gilbert.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Shirley N. Armstrong; two sons, William F. Armstrong of Caroline County and Leslie D. Armstrong of Stafford; two step-sons, Jonnie R. Williams and of Bradenton, Florida, and Donnie O. Williams of Spotsylvania County; two step-daughters, Connie Vitiello and Roni Sue Graninger, both of Stafford; two sisters, Zadia Curtis and Linda Messick, both of Stafford; two brothers, Delma Armstrong of Spotsylvania and Marion Armstrong of Stafford; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., March 26, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, with interment following in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made in his name to Mary Washington Hospice, 5012 Southpoint Parkway, Fredericksburg, VA 22407.
Estheleen Mae Hutchins Blackburn
Estheleen Mae Hutchins Blackburn, 87, of Stafford, died Thursday, March 19, at Stafford Hospital Center.
Survivors include her husband, Turner Ashby Blackburn Sr.; her children, Turner Ashby Blackburn Jr., of Manchester, Georgia; Suzanne Blackburn Olsen of Williamsburg; Paul Andrews Blackburn of Stafford; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
A funeral service was held March 23 at Aquia Episcopal Church, with interment following in the church cemetery. Covenant Funeral Service, 1310 Courthouse Road, Stafford, handled arrangements.

Dishpan Dent
Harold Edgar "Dishpan" Dent, 79, of Stafford County, died Friday, March 20, 2009, at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Lee Dent.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Betty Lou Dent; and numerous cousins.
Funeral services were held March 23 at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel, with interment following in Old Andrew Chapel Cemetery.
Verna Goldie Lacy
Verna Goldie Lacy, 83, of Partlow, died Saturday, March 21, 2009, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Alexandra Lacy; her brother, Clifton Phillippe; and her sister, Gladys Shelkett.
Survivors include her daughter, Dianna L. Carroll of Partlow; a brother, Herman Phillippe of Spotsylvania County; a sister, Virginia Clarke of Partlow; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
A service was held March 24 at Rehoboth United Methodist Church, with interment following in Rehoboth United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Wendy Ann Meade, 52, of Stafford, died Monday, March 23, 2009 at her residence.
She was the wife of Ken Meade.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gilbert Ford.
Survivors include her husband, Ken: her mother, Vera Ford; her children, Paul Ford, Scott Ngeonjuklin, Adrian Shelton, Jon Meade, and Kristin Weems; her brothers, Steve Ford, Brian Ford, and Gary Ford; her sister Tanya Nolan; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends March 26, 2009 from 7-9 p.m. at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel. A funeral service will be held March 27, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Colonial Baptist Church, Stafford, with interment following in Mt. Ararat Baptist Church Cemetery, Stafford.
Martin P. Mellett
Martin P. Mellett, 80, of Stafford County, died Monday, March 9, 2009, at his residence.
Survivors include his daughter, Meg Furman; three grandchildren, Danny Pettitt, Hillary Pettitt, and Amanda Pettitt; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Kathleen Evans; his former wife, Mary Dade; and multiple nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held March 14 at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel. Interment will be private at a later date.
Mary Elizabeth Pegelow
Mary Elizabeth Pegelow, 103, died Monday, March 23, 2009, at the home of her grandson in Fredericksburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Frederick Pegelow; and her parents, Norman and Linnie Shepherd.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Linnell Ball; her sons, Paul F. Pegelow Jr. and Donald R. Pegelow; eight grandchildren, Kerry Ball, Janice Beall, Ray Pegelow, Melinda Rice, Dan Pegelow, Thomas Pegelow, Dale Pegelow, and Jill Armm; and 14 great-grandchildren. The family would like to give special thanks to granddaughter-in-law Kaye Pegelow and her caregiver, Pat Ackuayi, for the excellent care and devotion they have given during her illness.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., March 26 at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel. Interment will follow in Pohick Church Cemetery.

Isaac Franklin Posey, 89, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, March 22, 2009.
Survivors include his children, Joy P. Rineer, Philip Posey, Danny Posey, Scottie James, Paul Keys and Tommy Keys; his sisters, Marietta Abel and Betty Mozingo; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at noon, March 28 at Spotsylvania Church of God. Interment will be at noon, March 31 in Quantico National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on March 27 at Covenant Funeral Service in Fredericksburg.
Webster Charles Roberts
Webster Charles Roberts, 90, of Falls Run, died Monday, March 16, 2009.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne E. Roberts; and a daughter, Betty Deane Stetson.
Survivors include his son, William C. Roberts of Annandale; a sister, Jeanne Flegel of Ithaca, Michigan; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on June 16, at Covenant Funeral Service in Fredericksburg with Rev. Jeff Jones officiating. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Milton Edward Sears Sr., 81, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg.
Survivors include his two sons, Milton Edward Sears Jr. of Weston, W. Va., and Marshall K. Sears of Morgantown, W. Va.; his daughter, Barbel Hoeldtke of Germany; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and the mother of his children, Margaret Moss of Glenville, W. Va.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on March 27, at Covenant Funeral Service in Fredericksburg, with interment following in Quantico National Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald G. Huffman and Emiley A. Henson Huffman; and by her sister, Carol D. Redden.
Survivors include her husband, Waynard Zimmerman; her children, Carol A. Britt of Partlow, Kathy J. Jordan of Stafford, Galen B. Williams Jr. of Partlow, Charles A. Williams Sr. of Partlow, and Waynard L. Zimmerman Jr. of Partlow; her two sisters: Carlos Bishop of Oak Hill, and Carlond Zimmerman of Partlow; 9 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
