Lydia Mathew Echevarria
Lydia Mathew Echevarria, 99, beloved wife of Alfredo Mathew Sevilla, has passed on, leaving Lydia Boyce, eldest, and Anderson Heally, youngest, surviving from the union including eight children, 21 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

A memorial mass with rosary service celebrating grandma Lydia’s life will be conducted at St. William of York Roman Catholic Church at 9 a.m. on Aug. 10. Please sign the register book.

Laurence Franklin Fielding
Laurence Franklin Fielding, 84, of Falmouth, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maude and Laurence Fielding; and by his sister, Alice Lee Wade.

Survivors include a niece; two nephews; and numerous friends.

Mullins and Thompson Funeral Services handled the arrangements.

Edward Myles Johnson
Edward Myles Johnson, 85, died Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Johnson; and by a son and a daughter.

A funeral was held April 23 at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Services, Stafford Chapel, with interment following in Quantico National Cemetery.

Reggie Kestel
Reginald Eugene “Reggie” Kestel, 78, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Velma Kestel and his brother, Henry Kestel.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Aleta Peirce Kestel; his children, Stephanie Fantauzzi of Fredericksburg, Jerry Kestel of Los Angeles, California, and Lynn Morthland of Stafford; three grandchildren, Ben, Chris and Nina; and his sister, Velma Rice of Aldie.

A memorial service was held May 2 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2217 Princess Anne St. Ste. 106-1F, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.

Nello Green Musselman
Nello Green Musselman, 42, of Stafford County, died Thursday, April 30, 2009 at his home.

Survivors include his mother, Leona Musselman; a daughter, Sarah Musselman of Fredericksburg; a brother, Ralph Musselman Jr. of Fredericksburg; a sister, Angie Laraway; and a nephew.

A funeral service was held May 4 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, with inurnment following in Stafford Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society-Central Virginia Chapter, 2112 West Laburnum Ave., Suite 204, Richmond, VA 23227, or to the American Heart Association Memorials Processing Center, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058.

Larry Ray Neal
Larry Ray Neal, 62 of Midland, died Thursday, April 23, 2009, at his residence.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie “Sis” and Charles Neal; his son, William Joe Neal; his father-in-law, Joe H. Buckles; his mother-in-law, G. Nell Buckles; and loving sister-in-law, Katie Jo Buckles.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda; his son, Larry E. Neal; his daughter, Kelly Ann Lester; six grandchildren; a nephew; four brothers: Charles Neal, James Neal, Curtis Neal, and Cletis Neal; three sisters Loretta Sutherland, Linda Lewis, Peggy Hamm, and Rita Neal; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held April 28 at 11 a.m. at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel, with interment following in Rock Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Dawn Lori Powell
Dawn Lori Powell, 45, of Stafford, died Friday, May 1, 2009 at Stafford Hospital Center.

She was the wife of Doug Powell.

Survivors include her husband, Doug; her parents, Guido and Lois LaMonaca; her maternal grandmother, Ruth S. Coope; an aunt and uncle; and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., May 7 at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel.

Wilda K. Stone
Wilda K. Stone, 78, of Stafford County, died Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Carriage Hill Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Ray Stone.

Survivors include her fours sons, Andy and Samuel, both of Fredericksburg, and Richard and Mark of King George; eleven grandchildren; two daughters, Debra Dedman of Florida and Linda King of
Charleston, S.C.; a sister, Mary Louise Brochetti of Yatesboro, Pa.; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at 11 a.m., May 7, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, with interment following in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the White Oak Fire Department, 12 Newton Road, Falmouth, VA, 22405, or the White Oak Rescue Squad, 535 White Oak Road, Falmouth, VA, 22405.
