Elizabeth A. Conner, 62, of Stafford, died Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Elizabeth Andrews and her sister, Becky Brown.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Conner; her sons, Maury Conner, Scotty Conner, both of Stafford; her brother, M.T. Andrews of Tennessee; and her sister, Sandy Black of Florida.
A graveside service was May 13 in the Sullivan Family Cemetery.

Capt. Ryan M. Davis
Capt. Ryan M. Davis, 37, died Saturday, April 18, 2009, at his home in Fredericksburg, following a 4-and-a-half-year battle with cancer.
Survivors include his wife, Carina; two daughters, Alexandra and Natalie; mother and stepfather, Nancy and Cordell Funk; a sister, Kendra Paniagua; two step-brothers, Graham and Kevin Funk; a niece, Mikaela Paniagua; and a nephew, Antonio Paniagua.
A memorial service was held April 28th at Ferry Farm Baptist Church. Military services were conducted at Quantico. Covenant Funeral Service handled the arrangements.

Lydia Mathew Echevarria
Lydia Mathew Echevarria, 99, beloved wife of Alfredo Mathew Sevilla, has passed on, leaving Lydia Boyce, eldest, and Anderson Heally, youngest, surviving from the union including eight children, 21 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, and subsequently migrated to the Bronx, N.Y.

Welford "Dick" DeShazo, 65, lifelong resident of King George, Virginia died Thursday, May 7, 2009.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Buck and Virginia DeShazo; and two brothers, Howard Mitchell DeShazo and Harry Milton DeShazo.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Joan Turner DeShazo; two sons, James DeShazo, Virginia; Kevin DeShazo; two sisters, Katherine Burgess and Eleanor James, both of Stafford, Virginia; and three grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at May 11, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, with entombment following in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Two Rivers Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 1425, King George, VA 22485.

Dorothy Burton Ellington, 86, died Thursday, May 7, 2009 at her home in Stafford County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Linwood Ellington.
Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Purks of Sterling; two grandchildren; a great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Sidney “Sid” Rice Gayle, 72, of Stafford, died at his residence May 7, 2009.
He was the husband of Shirley Gayle.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Emmett and Norman Gayle.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Shirley Mae Heflin; his four children, Sharon Schellin, Johnny Keener, Donald Gayle, and Robert Gayle; nine grandchildren; a great-grandson; his brothers and sisters; Marie Stanley, Charles (Granville) Gayle, Beverly Fitzgerald, Edward Gayle and Louise Bennett; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eugene Thomas Holder, 55, of Stafford died Sunday, May 3, 2009, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg.
He was the beloved husband of Nancy Holder for 27 years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Anne Holder.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; his father, Robert E. Holder; his daughter, Margaret; his son, Nathan; a grandson, Dominic; and three brothers, Lewis, Edward and Richard.

Michael Mikie King, 60, of Falmouth, died Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Fair Oaks Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert King Sr.; and his brothers Robert King Jr. and David King.
Survivors include his mother, Betty King; his wife, Carol of Falmouth; his daughter, Angel King of Lorton; his sons, Jerry Via of the home, and Michael Via of Linden; his sister, Lori Frye of King George; his brother, Brad King, of the home; two granddaughters and one grandson; and one niece and one nephew.

Howard Herman Reed, 80, of Stafford County, died Thursday, May 7, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family.
Survivors include a daughter, Karla Gilason of Stafford; a son, Timothy J. Reed of Woodridge, Illinois; four brothers; Frank Reed Jr. of Iowa, Walter and Maurice Reed, both of Illinois, and Donald Reed of Texas; a sister, Eleanor Menke of Iowa; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Howard’s family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on May 16 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels – Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22407. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
