MySpace informational session to be held
STAFFORD — The Stafford County Sheriff's Office will be offering an informational session regarding MySpace Internet network. MySpace is widely used around the world by adolescents and young adults. The sheriff’s office wants to help educate parents on how MySpace works and what is available for others to find out on My Space.
The seminar will be held May 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Stafford County Sheriff's Office Public Safety Center, Ford T. Humphrey Building, at 1225 Courthouse Road, Stafford, Virginia 22555. While there is no cost for these informative sessions, the sessions are for parents or adults only.
Save the fireworks this year
FREDERICKSBURG — Fundraising efforts are under way to save the fireworks display at the 2009 Heritage Festival on July 4. There will be a golf tournament as well as a spaghetti dinner. All proceeds will benefit the fireworks event at Stafford County’s Pratt Park.
The golf tournament will be held June 1. For information, call (540) 735-8000 or visit golfcannonridge.com. The spaghetti dinner will be held that evening from 6 to 8 pm., costing $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.
