Josephine Amidon Dillon
Josephine Amidon Dillon, 84, of Stafford, died Friday, May 22, 2009 at her home while in Mary Washington Hospital Hospice Care.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Dillon; her brothers, the Rev. Henry Amidon and Ernest “Top” Amidon; and her sisters, Hilda Amidon, Elizabeth Amidon Walsh, and Lucille Peacher.

Survivors include her son, Scott Dillon; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Dumfries United Methodist Church on May 27, with interment following in Dumfries Cemetery.

Donations in her name in lieu of flowers can be made to the Dumfries United Methodist Church, 3890 Cameron Street, Dumfries, VA 22026 or to the Mary Washington Hospice, 5012 Southpoint Parkway Fredericksburg, VA 22407.

Walter John Gaylord, Sr.
Walter John Gaylord Sr. died May 20 in Stafford following a period of declining health.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Frances Hamilton Gaylord; three sons, Walter Gaylord Jr. of Stafford, David Gaylord of California, and Jeffrey Gaylord of Colorado; his wife's children, Anne Kelley of Ohio, Lee Hamilton of Michigan, and Richard Hamilton of Pennsylvania; and nine grandchildren.

Services were held May 27 at Covenant Funeral Service in Fredericksburg, with interment following be in Quantico National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Medi Home Health and Hospice, 3302 Bourbon St., Fredericksburg, VA 22408 to the attention of Kathy Craig, RN.

Janice Elaine Guy
Janice Elaine Guy, 64, of Fredericksburg died Sunday, May 24, 2009, at her home.

Survivors include her four sisters, Frances R. Shelton, Peggy Limerick, Helen June Gordon, and Janet L. Barnosky; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held May 27 at Ramoth Baptist Church, with interment following in the Ramoth Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ramoth Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 478 Ramoth Church Rd., Stafford, VA 22554 or to the Mountain View Rescue Squad, 1268 Mountain View Road, Falmouth, VA 22406.

Mary O. Hart
Mary O. Hart, 77, of Falmouth, died Thursday, May 21, 2009.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Mamie Oliver; her husband, Wallace "Tater" Hart; and a daughter, Mary Anne Hart.

Survivors include her three children, Jeffrey Hart, David Hart, and Anne Hart Laboy; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren, all of Fredericksburg; a sister, Shirley Whitby; and a brother, Leo Oliver.

Mary's family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on May 23 at Covenant Funeral Service in Fredericksburg.

A funeral was held May 24 at Covenant Funeral Service in Fredericksburg with interment following in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2217 Princess Anne St., Suite 106-1F, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.

Rose Marie Lease
Rose Marie Lease, 77, of Stafford, died Monday, May 25, 2009 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Jessie Mellon; her husband, Gilbert L. Lease; and her daughter, Kay L. Apperson.

Survivors include her son, Michael Lease of Falmouth; her daughter, Terri L. Gray of Falmouth; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on May 28 at Covenant Funeral Service’s Fredericksburg Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on May 29 at Falmouth Baptist Church, and interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations my be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Trudy Clifton, 113 Tallpines Ave., Locust Grove, VA 22508 or Falmouth Baptist Church, 302 Colonial Ave., Falmouth, VA 22405.

Gloria Ellen Linsler
Gloria Ellen Linsler, 78, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmott and Ethel Burton; and her brothers, Kenneth Burton and Robert Burton.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph Linsler; her sister Hazel Hertel of Denver, N.C.; two daughters Sharon Goodchild and Darlene Pack, both of Stafford; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel at 11:30 a.m. on May 28,with interment following in Quantico National Cemetery.

Raymond Freemont Luck
Raymond Freemont Luck, 68, of Hartwood died Monday, May 25, 2009, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg.

Survivors include his brother, James B. Luck of Spotsylvania; his sister, Lillie Jones of Richmond; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. on May 28, 2009 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road in Fredericksburg. A memorial service will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

Arthur G. McNutt
Arthur G. McNutt, 81, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, May 22, 2009.

He was preceded in death by his wife of over 40 years, Betty Pendleton McNutt.

Survivors include his two daughters, Cyndi G. Blake of Fredericksburg and Peggy Labbe of Spotsylvania; a brother, Robert McNutt of Stafford; and one grandchild.

A service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 28, 2009, at Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fredericksburg Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 444, Fredericksburg, VA 22404-0444, ATTN: Treasurer, or to the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church Youth Ministries, 308 Hanover St., Fredericksburg, VA 22401.
