Richard Henry Beckham

Richard Henry Beckham, 93, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Beckham; his parents, Noah and Lizzie Dickinson Beckham; a cousin, Myrtle Dickinson Adams, who was like a sister to him.

Survivors include his cousins, Elinor Dickinson, William Dickinson both of Hartwood; Curtis Dickinson and Lois Roberson, Edith Beverly, Donald Dickinson, all of Stafford, Larry Dickinson of Halifax, Betty Ann Seay of Berea, and numerous other cousins.

A funeral was held Sept. 20 at Berea Baptist Church, with interment following in Berea Baptist Church Cemetery.

Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, handled the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Berea Baptist Church 28 Fleet Rd. Fredericksburg, VA 22406, and to the Salvation Army, 2010 Lafayette Blvd Fredericksburg, VA 22401.

Heidi Grace Bolding

Heidi Grace Bolding, 21, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Sept. 18, 2009.

Survivors include her father, Tony Bolding of Fredericksburg; her parents, Joe and Cindy Petroski, of Stafford; her sister, Ashley North of Fredericksburg: two nieces, Kylie and Addison Grace; aunts, Pam Tyre of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, Lori Belgie of New Bedford, Pa., and Leslie Stockton of Stuart, Fla.; two uncles; her grandfather, Glenn Bolding, of Miami, Fla.; grandparents, Alfred and Norma Belgie of New Bedford, Pa.; and a great aunt and uncle, Skip and Arlene Manolovich, both of Monaca, Pa.

A memorial service will be held Sept. 24, 1 p.m., at Grace Church, Fredericksburg, 1141 Heatherstone Drive, Fredericksburg, VA 22407.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her honor to either Bethany Christian Services, 910 Little Page Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401 or Friends of the Rappahannock, P.O. Box 7254, Fredericksburg, VA 22404.

Julia Payne Gatewood

Julia Payne Gatewood, 90, of Spotsylvania County, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, in Fredericksburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman F. Gatewood; and her son, Roger Gatewood.

Survivors include her son, Leroy Gatewood of Spotsylvania; her daughters, Barbara Roberson of Stafford and Doris Bullock of Ladysmith; a sister, Ruth Flippo of Thornburg; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A service will be held Sept. 24, 11 p.m., at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, with interment following in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Baptist Church, 6519 Marye Road, Woodford, Virginia 22580.

D. Charlotte Kirkland
D. Charlotte Kirkland, 80, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Brackin Kirkland Jr.
Survivors include two sisters, Allene Johnson of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Wynell Rafkin of Denton, Texas; an uncle, an aunt, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service was held Sept. 19 at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Home, Stafford. A graveside service was Sept. 21 at Liberty Hill Cemetery near Leander, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to building funds at either Mount Ararat Baptist Church, Stafford, or New Hope First Baptist Church, Cedar Park, Texas.
Lucy A. McMaugh
Lucy A. McMaugh, 66, of Stafford, died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, following a long battle with cancer.
Survivors include her four children, Karen Ann Martin of Big Bear, California, Joanne Marie Hudson of Fredericksburg, Kevin Michael McMaugh of Fredericksburg and Linda Marie White of Stafford; two brothers, Carlo Bockiaro and Peter Bockiaro of Florida; and 13 grandchildren.

Charles Wissner Sale

Charles Wissner Sale, 84, of Falmouth, died Friday, September 18, 2009, surrounded by family whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his son, Barry W. Sale; and a brother, Battaile Sale.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Marlene S. Sale; one daughter, Penny Pierce of Falmouth; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother, William P. Sale, of Fredericksburg; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral was held Sept. 21, at Falmouth Baptist Church with interment following in Falmouth Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Falmouth Baptist Church Boiler Fund 302 Colonial Ave., Falmouth VA 22405 or to Carter’s Crusaders, c/o First Market Bank, 725 Jackson St., No. 209, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.

Muriel Ruth Wimmer

Muriel Ruth Wimmer, 80, of Stafford, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, at Stafford Hospital Center.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Scharrer.

Survivors include her husband, Walter A. Wimmer; her sons, Walter W. Wimmer of Marshall, Thomas Wimmer of Ashburn, Steven Wimmer of Jacksonville, Florida, Richard Wimmer of Vienna, and John Wimmer of Sterling; her daughter, Deborah Regan and of Stafford; her sister, Naomi Catalano; 22 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held Oct. 23, 8:45 a.m., at Old Post Chapel, Fort Myer, with interment following in Arlington National Cemetery with military honors.

A celebration of life will follow at Spates Hall at Fort Myer.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Mary Washington Hospice, 5012 Southpoint Parkway, Fredericksburg, VA 22407.
