Glenda Lee Goodrich
Glenda Lee Goodrich-Bell, 54, of Stafford County, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011 at VCU Hospital in Richmond.
Ms. Goodrich-Bell was born to Howard and Jackie Goodrich, of Baltimore, MD on October 4, 1956 and lived there most of her life. She was in Girl Scouts, participated in Tap and Ballet dancing and was a member of the Royal Star Majorettes, winning many trophies. Glenda attended EVT School. She was frequently recognized for her styling by the Hair Cuttery. Glenda later worked for the FBI Academy where she made many friends. She was also a member of the Protestant Community Church.
Glenda had been engaged to her life partner, Bob Matthews. They had a beautiful relationship and were very much in love. They were to be married at their home in the fall.
Survivors include her fiancé, Bob Matthews; her parents, Howard and Jackie Goodrich; her sisters, Gerrie Lynn Glaser, of Camas, WA and Gale Leslie Dawson and her husband, Chuck, of Baltimore; her brother, Rusty Goodrich and his wife, Pam, of Vienna; her nieces and nephews, Taylor, Kameron, Collin, Tanner, Ryan and Payton; and Bob's children, William and Melissa
A memorial service will be held at noon, Saturday, July 30 at Living Hope Lutheran Church with the Rev. Gary D. Rueter officiating. Interment will be private.
Walter Anthony Wimmer
Walter Anthony Wimmer, 85, of Stafford, VA, died Friday, June 17, 2011 after a brief rehabilitation stay at Falls Run Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He now joins his beloved wife, Muriel Ruth Wimmer .
Mr. Wimmer is a retired U.S. Army veteran of WWII and the Korean conflict. During World War II, Mr. Wimmer supported Operation Lumberjack with the U.S. 1st Army in highly fluid combat operations in the cities of Cologne, Bonn, and Remagen, Germany. During one of the final elements of the German offensive, he manned a half-track quadmount, providing anti-air coverage for his unit as the bridge over the Remagen fell. He later served in the Occupation of Korea and Japan and was a proud member of the 3d U.S. Army Infantry Regiment, The Old Guard. After his discharge, Mr. Wimmer served as a Civil Servant for over 20 years.
Survivors include his children, Walter W. Wimmer and his wife, Cathy; Thomas Wimmer and his wife, Debbie; Petty Officer First Class Steven Wimmer USN (Ret) and his wife, Mary Beth; Richard Wimmer; John Wimmer; and Deborah Regan and her husband, Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Regan, USMC (Ret); a sister, Helen Grau and her husband, Harry; 22 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
A reception will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2011, at Spates Community Club, 214 McNair Road, Bldg. 407, Ft. Myer, Va. from 11:15 to 1:15. A military burial will follow in Arlington National Cemetery at 2:00 pm.

Dennis Ray Toombs
Dennis Ray Toombs, 54, of Stafford County, passed away Monday, July 18, 2011 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mr. Toombs was a graduate of Stafford High School. He retired from the Stafford County Sheriff's Office, and then returned working part time. He attended Falmouth Baptist Church and was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marion Toombs and a brother Donald Wayne Toombs.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Tamela Toombs; his daughter, Amy Marie Toombs; his son, Dennis Ray Toombs, II and his wife, Melissa Ann; his two grandchildren, Alexis Marie Toombs and Hailey Ann Toombs; his father, Colston Toombs; his sister, Frances Minter; his father and mother-in-law, David and Charlotte Decatur of Fla, his sisters-in-law, Marie Lease and her husband, Brent of Spotsylvania County, Wendy Bender of Boyds, MD; and his brother-in-law, David Decatur, Jr. of Stafford; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 6pm Friday, July 22 at Falmouth Baptist Church with the Rev. Leslie A. Powers officiating. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Hilbert A. Newton
Hilbert A. Newton, 88, of Stafford County, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mr. Newton was born in King George County in 1922 to the late Joseph and Lena Newton. After Pearl Harbor he joined the US Navy for six years. Upon his discharge in 1948, he was employed at the Dahlgren Naval Base until he retired in 1977.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Iris H. Newton; his children, Vena Sale, of Ferry Farm, Tyler Newton, of Stafford County and Conley Newton, of Tullahoma, TN; his sister, Esther Stevens; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, E.P. Newton

Hein Jacques "Dutch" Leverstein
Hein Jacques "Dutch" Leverstein, 78 of Stafford County passed away at his residence on Wednesday, July 13, 2011.
He was born in Indonesia to the late Hendrick Leverstein and Louise vander Valk Leverstein and had worked as a Chief Maintenance Engineer for Local 99 in the District of Columbia.
Mr. Leverstein was a volunteer with the O.W.L. Volunteer Fire Department, where he was a recipient of the Betty Limerick Service Award in 1980. He was a soccer coach for Prince William County Soccer Authority, served in the Royal Dutch Air Force, and was an avid sailor.
Mr. Leverstein is preceded in death by his parents; brother; Frank, daughter-in-law; Catherine, and a son-in-law; Jon Lavin.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years; Hester, sons; Walter, Robert and his wife Donna, and Jacques and his wife Kim; daughter; Michelle Leverstein-Lavin and her husband Dean, sister; Suzette Gosschalk and her husband Maurice, grandchildren; Stefanie Smith, Jacob Leverstein, and Delilah Lavin; great-grandchild; Catherine Smith, and step-grandchildren; Richard Eggum, David Moody, Wesley Moody; and several step-great-grandchildren.

Marian C. O'Keefe
Marian C. O'Keefe, 90, of Stafford County, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2011 at her residence.
Mrs. O'Keefe was a member of St. William of York Catholic Church.
Survivors include her children, Sharon Cenna, Diane O'Keefe and David O'Keefe and his wife, Kathleen; a daughter-in-law, Janet O'Keefe; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. O'Keefe was preceeded in death by her husband Lawrence O'Keefe and her eldest son Thomas O'Keefe.
