Louis Buttgen Jr.
Louis Buttgen Jr., 84, of Stafford, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011 at Kendred Hospital in Richmond.
Survivors include his wife, Margie M. Buttgen; sons, Louis Buttgen III and Philip Buttgen; daughters, Jennifer Ann Tyler and Judy Buttgen; brother, Jack Buttgen; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Sept. 26 at Ramoth Baptist Church with inurnment following the church cemetery.

Paul David Pearson Jr.
Paul David Pearson Jr., 54, of Stafford, died Friday, Sept. 23, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Pearson; and his father.
Survivors include his mother, Myrtle Mowbray; his fiancée, Nora Chewning; a brother, Daniel Carr; two sisters, Karen Orndorff and Grace Mowbray; and several nieces and nephews.
Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service in Stafford handled arrangements.

Elizabeth Erma Shackelford
Elizabeth Erma Shackelford, 79, of Stafford, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2011, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Shackelford; an infant son, William; her youngest daughter, Peggy Lou Hicks; oldest son, George Wallace Shackelford; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Charles D. "Dennie" Shackelford, Stanley G. "Peanut" Shackelford, James E. "Duck" Shackelford, all of Stafford; three daughters, Elizabeth "Annie" Mullins, Georgianna "Georgie" Davidson, both of Davy, W.Va. and Mary J. "Sissy" O'shea of Stafford; two brothers, Jack and James Perry; a sister, Mary Dent of Stafford, 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great- great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Sept. 20 at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Home, Stafford Chapel 186 Shelton Shop Road, where a funeral service was conducted Sept. 21 at 12 p.m. with interment to follow at Stafford Memorial Park.
A funeral was held Sept. 21 at Mullin and Thompson Funeral Home in Stafford.
Mary Ann Decatur Staats
Mary Ann Decatur Staats, 46, of Stafford County, died Sunday, September 18, 2011 at her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dudley and Mary Decatur; and her sister, Linda Stanley.
Survivors include a daughter, Erika E. Salyers; her companion, William Conner Jr.; a sister, Bridgitte Garret, all of Stafford; three grandchildren; and numerous nephews.
A funeral was held at Salem United Methodist Church on Sept. 23 with interment following in the church cemetery.

Rafael A. Dueno Jr., 20, of Stafford County, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, in an automobile accident. Funeral arrangements were incomplete at press time.

Alice Gray Newcomb
Alice Gray Newcomb, 90, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her son, David S. Newcomb.
Survivors include two nieces; four nephews; and several cousins and other relatives.
A memorial service was held Sept. 27 at Fredericksburg Baptist Church.

Herbert Herman “Pop” Warner, 84, of Stafford County, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2011
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram and Anna Melchert Warner; wife, Helen; son, Herbert Franklin; two brothers, Hiram and Bobby; and a sister, Edna Unkart.
Survivors include four daughters, Brenda Ojibway of Stafford County, Phyllis Rehor of Orange County, Cindy Hamblin of Westmoreland County and Robin Fox of Orange County; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sept. 29, at Covenant Funeral Service in Fredericksburg.
A service will be held Sept. 30 at 11 a.m. at Hull's Memorial Baptist Church in Stafford and interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.
