STAFFORD — Actor and filmmaker Jim Klock returned to his roots in Stafford last week, allowing friends and guests to view a new one-hour police drama that he plans to submit to network executives as a possible upcoming television show.

Klock set up shop at Family Pizzeria in Stafford, where friend and owner Mike Cain owns the business. There, on Dec. 8, about 50 friends and invited guests trickled in to watch the undercover police show titled “Decoy,” which Klock’s been working on with colleagues, including Darrell Martinelli.

The pair directed the show, while Klock created it. Klock in fact, had the concept for about five years, he said. The show centers on a team of law enforcement officers led by a federal prosecutor who sets up repeat violent criminals and kills them during the commission of crimes. But there’s a twist…

All of the actors in the film were from New York of Los Angeles, Klock said. It took a five-day shoot, a 6-week production and 12 weeks of post-production editing.

Klock’s sister had passed away while he was shooting the film, and he said that shooting just after she passed was particularly difficult. At the end of the movie, a special message to Klock’s sister is displayed as a dedication in her honor.

Klock has had roles on “Desperate Housewives,” “24,” “Criminal Minds,” “Prison Break,” “Jericho” and more. The former full-time Stafford law enforcement officer didn’t leave police work completely behind, as one can see from his roles, and from his continued part-time involvement with area law enforcement.

On an upcoming ‘Knight Rider” to air this month, Klock will guest star as a lead prison guard.

Klock’s pizzeria presentation also saw a visit from Dave Coyne, a fellow actor and friend whose comedic performances were also shown at the pizza place.

For now, Klock, who runs Southern Gentleman Productions with Martinelli, is hoping that with several police dramas going off the air, his proposed pilot will be a possibility with networks. If not, he’s keeping it open as an option for the movies as well.
