Water main break disrupt service to utilities customers

» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

STAFFORD — A water main break above the Claiborne Run Creek may disrupt water service to Stafford utilities customers who live in the Chatham Heights area of Stafford County, according to a county press release.

The above ground main was supported on a concrete piling that was washed away due to the heavy rains in Stafford over the last few days. Utility crews have been working on repairs since last night, but the work could take several more hours. Customers may be without water, or experience discolored or low water pressure throughout today.

Anyone with questions should call a customer service center that has been set up at the Berea Fire & Rescue Station in response to the tornado damage that occurred Thursday night in Stafford. The center is located at 20 Sebring Way. The phone number is (540) 658-4221. It opened at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Individuals can also call (540) 658-4440 after hours.
