Dominion improves electrical service

» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

STAFFORD — In June, Dominion Virginia Power installed a new underground line in eastern Stafford County. Residents of Marlborough and along Brooke Road are expected to experience fewer power outages and a reduction in outage restoration times. According to Dominion Virginia Power, this new power line will serve more than 400 residents and will make service available for future development as well.

Stafford Supervisor Paul Milde, R-Aquia, helped convince Dominion to expedite the process by supporting a resolution asking for the improvement of electrical service reliability in 2005. Four years later, nearly a mile of electric circuit was successfully installed to better serve the community.

Additionally, a new Dominion proposal seeks to save Dominion customers money in the long run by charging an extra 95 cents on consumers’ bills, according to a Dominion press release. The company says that the energy efficiency plan could save $1.2 billion over 15 years.
