Motorcycle show draws crowd in D.C.

STAFFORD — Rumbles filled the air at the Washington, D.C. Convention Center as the 28th Annual Cycle World International Motorcycle Show kicked off Jan. 9-11.

The show hits 13 cities nationwide, including Phoenix, Dallas, Long Beach, Seattle, Washington, D.C., New York, Chicago and Minneapolis. Each show lasts for three days.

The 2008-2009 show has 19 major maufacturers, including Aprilia, BMW, Buell, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Hyosung, Kawasaki, KTM, Kymco, Moto Guzzi, MV Agusta, Piaggio, Star, Suzuki, Ural, Vespa, Victory and Yamaha. Local manufacturers, custom bikes and various vintage clubs were also quite visible at this year’s show.

Enthusiasts, curiosity-seekers, children and families were all invited to see and experience the shows.

Potential motorcycle buyers were welcome to sit on and compare various bikes from different companies and get questions answered. Attractions included the thrilling BOSS Stunt Show and various giveaways for attendees to win valuable prizes.

The next scheduled show is in New York, N.Y., from Jan 16-18.
