Stafford felon faces gun possession charge

WOODBRIDGE — During a traffic stop, a Prince William County police officer arrested a 20-year-old Stafford man and charged him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Tyron Daishwn Brown of 205 Hatchers Run Court was stopped at about 1:50 p.m. on Thursday in the 13900 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.

Brown is being held without bond and his court date is April 15.

Coca-Cola machine stolen from Lowe’s

STAFFORD — Three men drove a Chevy S10 pickup truck to the front of Lowe’s on Banks Ford Parkway in south Stafford on Feb. 24 at about 2 a.m., loaded a Coca-Cola machine onto it and left, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

Copper coils, sodas, and cash were taken from the machine. It was discarded nearby where a passerby saw it later that day and reported it, police said.

The thieves are described as three white men, two wearing Carhartt jackets and jeans and the other a black jacket and jeans.

Second Coca-Cola vandalized

BEREA — Deputy James Kingman found a Coca-Cola machine the night of Feb. 25 machine at the end of International Parkway in Stafford, reported the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

The cash box and all sodas had been removed from the machine.

A Coca-cola machine had been taken from Lowe’s recently and vandalized.

Attack takes place on school bus

FREDERICKSBURG — A bus driver traveling to Old Walker Grant School School on Monday reported that a student repeatedly assaulted another student on the bus with a metal pipe.

The driver was able to get the pipe away from the student, who then left the bus, according to Natatia Bledsoe, public information officer for the Fredericksburg Police Department.

The incident occurred at about 8:20 a.m. in the 1700 block of Lafayette Boulevard in Fredericksburg.

The student tried to board the bus again, but the driver would not open the doors. Police searched for the student for several hours and located him just before noon in the 200 block of Twin Lakes Drive, placing him in the Rappahannock Juvenile Detention Center under a juvenile petition for malicious wounding. The victim was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
