Stafford felon faces gun possession charge

WOODBRIDGE — During a traffic stop a Prince William County police officer arrested a 20-year-old Stafford man and charged him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Tyron Daishwn Brown of 205 Hatchers Run Court was stopped by police about 1:50 p.m. Feb. 25 in the 13900 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.
Brown is being held without bond and his court date is April 15.
Assailants shoot victim, steal wallet

STAFFORD — The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information regarding an armed robbery and malicious wounding that took place on the evening of March 4 when four men stole a man’s wallet. The man put up a fight and was shot.

The incident took place in the vicinity of Mews Court in North Stafford when four black men wearing dark clothing approached the individual. When the man refused to give up his wallet, shots were fired in the air, police said, noting that the suspects left in a dark or possibly maroon-colored 2000-2004 Buick Century.

Stafford woman arrested in Fredericksburg

FREDERICKSBURG — The Fredericksburg Police Department has reported the arrest of Christina Wilson, 28, of Stafford, for felony shoplifting and possession of a schedule IV narcotic at the Central Park Walmart in Fredericksburg.

Police: Local thefts take place

STAFFORD — A satellite radio and credit cards were stolen from a vehicle parked at the Wingate Inn at 20 Sanford Drive in south Stafford sometime between March 4-5, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

The Stafford County Sheriff's Office is also looking for suspects in the theft of a stereo and GPS system taken from a Chevrolet Suburban between March 4 and 5 at the Wingate Inn on Salisbury Drive in North Stafford. Entry was made by breaking a rear passenger window, police said.

The owner of a blue 2001 Honda Civic left his apartment on Ferguson Street in Stafford at about 9:30 p.m. on March 5 and discovered that his car had been stolen. The car has a broken taillight, a broken windshield on the passenger's side and a VCU sticker on the rear window. The owner last saw it at about 4:30 p.m. on March 4.

An employee at Falls Run Self-Storage reported a Ford F350 U-Haul truck valued at $20,000 stolen from the business between March 3 and 4.

Man leaves baby at bus station, goes shopping

FREDERICKSBURG — A Stafford man left his two-year-old son at the Fredericksburg Regional Transit bus station March 5 while he went grocery shopping, according to the Fredericksburg Police Department.

Sunday Chukwu, 45, left the boy there from about 11:30 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. while he went shopping at Giant Food at Eagle Village, according to police. He was charged with felony child neglect and released on his own recognizance.
