STAFFORD — Five people were injured at Dogwood Airport on Wednesday morning during a construction accident, according to Mark Doyle, executive officer for the Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department.
Roof trusses on a 50 by 60 foot airplane hangar under construction collapsed at about 10:50 a.m., injuring three people who fell from a roof as well as two others who were working from the ground, according to Doyle.
Four of the people were critically injured and one sustained non-life threatening injuries, said Stafford County Fire Chief Rob Brown.
All five people were taken to local hospitals.
The county Fire Marshal was at the airport Wednesday awaiting the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), which is investigating the cause of the accident.
Units from Falmouth, Brooke, White Oak, Stafford, the county fire chief and the Fire Marshal’s office were among those that responded to the accident.
