Stafford resident likes layaway
Layaway, to me, sounds like another great way to enjoy the holidays and also keep track of how much you are spending [recent story, Stafford County Sun]. This method really helps me to be able to think about what I really need and want to purchase and pay off within a certain time for holiday gifts. Using a credit card is far too easy to pass off and go for something you do not need.
Also, the trend of food prices climbing [Dec. 2 story, Stafford County Sun] is very discouraging to the consumer and their wallet and pennies. This is taking a big chunk out of the average household’s budget. The idea expressed that the rising food prices will bring the economy a better and stable growth in the next year(s) rather than what it was 2-3 years ago when inflation was low, seems to be a little questionable. The higher that inflation goes is not an indication of how good we are doing in the economy; it is raising the cost of living, not the custom or the natural way of living.
