Three teenagers go on vandalism spree, sheriff’s office says

NORTH STAFFORD — Three teenagers were arrested following a Christmas Eve vandalism spree in North Stafford, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

Matthew Hokana of Greenspring Drive in Stafford was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and underage possession of alcohol.

Stefan Hass of Bridgewater Circle in Stafford and Dakota Thompson of Thornberry Lane in Stafford were each charged wwith underage possession of alcohol and drunk in public.

Calls started coming in shortly after midnight Dec. 25, police said, noting that mailboxes and car mirrors were damaged in four neighborhoods. More calls also came in the next day.

Deputies pulled over a car with three 19-year-olds inside and found a bottle of alcohol and a baseball bat in it, police said.
They three teens were all incarcerated on a $1,500 bonds.


Woman killed in car crash

A Louisa County woman died Dec. 23 in a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Belsches Road and Bagby Road in Louisa County.
Gail A. Martin, 71, of Bumpass, died at the scene of the wreck after the 2010 Toyota Prius she was riding in hit a tree.
The car was driven by her husband, William F. Martin, 72. William Martin was flown to Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg with life-threatening injuries.
The Martins were both wearing their seatbelts, police said. A state police investigation of the crash is ongoing.

 

Woman charged with malicious wounding
STAFFORD — Police arrested a Dumfries-area woman after they say she cut a Stafford resident with a knife early Sunday morning.
The 46-year-old victim told police that Christine Yvone Skinner pulled out a knife and swung it at several people at a home in the 17000 block of Mine Road, located outside of Dumfries, at 1:47 a.m., Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.
Skinner reportedly cut the victim with the knife after the victim tried to disarm her, police said.
Skinner, 64, of 17019 Mine Road, Dumfries area, was charged with malicious wounding, Perok said. She was released on a $2,000 unsecured bond.
Police did not have Skinner’s court date available.
The victim sustained minor injuries


Police: Man robs Fredericksburg bank

FREDERICKSBURG — A man robbed the First Citizen’s Bank at 3205 Plank Road in Fredericksburg on the morning of Dec. 22, according to the Fredericksburg Police Department.

The man entered the bank at 10 a.m. and passed a note to the teller, declaring his intent and stating he had a weapon, police said. The teller handed over to him and he left the bank.

He ran to the woods behind Regal Cinemas and discarded some of his clothing, according to a police report.

The man is described as a white, in his 30s and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black stocking hat, gloves and dark sunglasses. He is tall and thin with no facial hair.

No weapon was displayed during the crime, police said.

Among the clothes discarded was the sweatshirt. 

Woman attempts to pass counterfeit bill

FREDERICKSBURG — A woman attempted to make a purchase with a counterfeit bill at A.C. Moore in Fredericksburg on the evening of Dec. 21, according to the Fredericksburg Police Department.

When an employee refused to take the bill she left the store, police said.  

Three men rob and assault another

FREDERICKSBURG — Three men assaulted and robbed a man as he walked across the parking lot in the 200 block of Crestview Way in Fredericksburg on the night of Dec. 20, according to the Fredericksburg Police Department.

They forced him to the ground, kicked him repeatedly and took his wallet, police said.

Despite injuries to his face the victim declined treatment.

The three men are black, according to a police report, but no further description is given.

Attempted armed robbery and shooting occurs
MAYFIELD — The Fredericksburg Police Department is looking for a man who allegedly assaulted a Fredericksburg resident, attempted to rob him and then shot him when he fought back.
The incident happened Dec. 26 at about 7:45 p.m. in the 1200 block of Railraod Ave. in Fredericksburg when an area resident was walking back to a friend’s house from the Dixon Street 7-Eleven, according to Natatia Bledsoe, public information officer for the police department.
At that time, a man jumped out from a concealed area and demanded that the resident turn over his property. The victim reported that the suspect struck him in the side of the head and when the victim fought back, the suspect shot him in the upper left arm.
Police said the victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance with non life-threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as a black man of unknown age and approximately 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 8 inches tall. The suspect was wearing a gray hoodie and something covering his face, police said.
