FALMOUTH — Robert “Bob” Thomas announced last week that he will run to represent the George Washington District on the Stafford County Board of Supervisors.
Thomas kicked off his campaign at Amy’s café in Falmouth.
The campaign is focused on creating jobs, improving the education system and seeking smarter growth policies and transportation improvements in Stafford County, which will lead to a stronger economy, shorter commutes and a better quality of life, according to a press release from Thomas.
Thomas is the president and CEO of Capriccio Software, a business on Riverside Parkway in Stafford. A former Marine, Thomas started Capriccio Software with another Marine in 2006.
“Out in the White Oak precinct, we’ve managed to keep a good deal of open space and the character of the area is something everyone is proud of,” said Thomas in a statement. “We have to be careful as future growth inevitably comes our way that we do our best to preserve the character of our district. As growth occurs, we have to be sure the developers are held accountable and pay their fair share of expenses such as schools, roads, water and sewer.
