Dixon-Smith Middle
Band students from Dixon-Smith Middle School participated in the District 15 Middle School Band Auditions held at Shirley Heim Middle School on Jan 14. The following students were named to the All-District Middle School Honor Band: Sean McOsker, Christina Rollins, Becca Millson, Connor Burton, Ashley Noah, Youn He Oh, Kristina Barksdale, Maria Barber, Tara Adkins, Diana Bloom, Brianna Clay, Eleanor Reichhardt, Lucas Sharrett, Shane Daveler, John Quinn, Micah Harris, Justin Cole, Ti Donnelly, Joey Wright, Amberly Thomas, Ben Austin, Caroline Pisciotta, Deion Lucas, Ashton Williams, Scott Barksdale, Ally Bolton, Jacob Howell, Nick Cook, Matt Arthur, William Davis, David Walden, Austin Staggs, Charlie Ross, Kayla Follin, Matt Stapleton and Emily  Mussey.

These students will be rehearsing and performing at the All-District Weekend on Feb. 10 and 11 at North Stafford High School.  Their concert begins at 3 p.m. in the North Stafford auditorium and is free and open to the public

Head Start
Free tax help is available Feb 10 from 9 a.m. to noon at Head Start. Parents should contact their Family Service Worker for more information and to schedule an appointment at (540) 368-2559.  

The next Family Literacy Night will be Feb 13 at 5 p.m. A light dinner will be served at 6 p.m. The ESL, GED and Parenting Skills Classes will take place at 6:30 p.m. 

The Budget Committee will meet Feb 15 at 10 a.m. The Policy Council will meet that same day at 11 a.m.

Employees of The Month were: Sue Stello, Rebecca Feldman, Debbie Adkins, Megan Kirkpatrick, Schelle Langham, Cheri Willis, Patsy Hall, Melanie Hughes, Judy Carmel, Brenda Spencer-Wells, Robin Migaleddi, Rebecca Carmody, Sandy Thatcher and Michelle Burns. 

Volunteers of The Month were: Marlita Henry, Elise Reed, Officer Nancy Morin, Pamara Walton, Rebecca Bradman, Michelle Johnson, Cassie Clifton, Doris Lopez and Amy Armstrong. 

Children Recognized for Character Education “Courage” for the Month were: Adrian Mayorga-Castro, Angel Vielman-Castillo, Alia Albajal, Kamora Arnold, Shaylon Willis, Dominick Woods, Chloe Scites, Steven Jandres-Aveleyra, Ryan Eicher II, Asiaianna Brown, Nevaeh McMillian-Jones, Andrew Pittinger, Katie Kile, Shaydon Willis, Mia Pellegrino and Eugene Asare.
