STAFFORD — Former Gov. Tim Kaine will hold an economic roundtable in Stafford County on Saturday, visiting with local veterans and military families.
The meeting will be held at 2:30 p.m. at The Globe & Laurel Restaurant at 3987 Jefferson Davis Hwy., and there, Kaine plans to speak about his method of creating jobs by way of a national talent economy, a balanced approach to deficit reduction and finding common ground in Washington, D.C.
Veterans will also be able to discuss the challenges they’ve faced with respect to the economy and jobs, and Kaine will discuss job recovery and creation, according to a press release from his office.
Kaine, a Democrat, is holding economic roundtables across the state to share his views and discuss the election, in which Kaine is running for a Senate seat against Republican and former Sen. George Allen. The race is on to succeed retiring former Democratic Sen. Jim Webb.
Kaine will also have two meet-and-greet sessions with local Democrats on Saturday.
The first will be held at a Manassas Democrats Breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. at A Taste of Heaven Tea Room at 8671 Phoenix Drive.
The second will be held at a Fredericksburg Democrats Lunch Meet and Greet from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the University of Mary Washington in Lee Hall, Room 411, at 1301 College Ave in Fredericksburg.
