Trio charged in attempted thefts at Target stores
NORTH STAFFORD — Three people were arrested at Target in Stafford Marketplace on Feb. 15 for attempting to steal a sound system, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.
Mark King, 42, of Douglas Street in Fredericksburg, Timothy Trigger, 44, of Trigger Lane in King George and Janet Ivy, 45, of Clearview Drive in Colonial Beach were each charged with attempted grand larceny and conspiracy to commit grand larceny, according to Bill Kennedy, public information officer for the sheriff’s office.
They also faced similar charges for an incident that occurred two days earlier at a south Stafford Target with a Bose sound system. For that incident they were charged with grand larceny and conspiracy to commit grand larceny, police said.
Police arrest men on drug, robbery charges
FALMOUTH — Three men were arrested following a robbery on Dudley Drive in south Stafford on Feb. 17, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.
Jason Ohr, 24, of Partlow Road in Caroline County, Alexandros Kipreos, 22, of Greenwood Drive in Fredericksburg and Jason Mitchell, 26, of Kellogg Mill Road in Stafford, were arrested, police said.
One of the men — Mitchell — was first thought to be a victim in the robbery but, police said, was arrested when deputies found drug paraphernalia on him. The extent of his involvement in the robbery is still under investigation, police said.
The other two men were arrested for being part of the robbery, in which they came out of a home while armed, according to police.
Ohr was charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of schedule I or II narcotics with the intent to distribute, attempt to possess schedule I or II narcotics and conspiracy to distribute those narcotics.
Kipreos was charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery, possession of schedule I or II narcotics with the intent to distribute, attempt to possess schedule I or II narcotics and conspiracy to distribute those narcotics.
Mitchell was charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery, possession of schedule I or II narcotics and conspiracy to possess them.
No handgun was found on any of the men, police said.
All three were incarcerated in the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
Men arrested for shooting paintballs at cars, sheriff’s office says
NORTH STAFFORD — Two men were arrested the night of Feb. 17 for shooting paintballs at cars in North Stafford, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.
One victim said that the driver of a vehicle followed her to the intersection of Mine Road and Highpointe Boulevard where she stopped.
She told police that a man in the other car was staring at her.
As she pulled way she heard a thump on the side of her car.
She called the police when she got home, where she also discovered an orange and purple paint splash on her car.
An investigation revealed Raymond Obringer, 19, of Pinnacle Drive in North Stafford and Austin Teace, of Cove Landing Drive in Woodbridge. They are suspected in doing the same to two other cars in the area that day.
They were charged with firing a missile at an occupied vehicle, vandalism, brandishing a firearm and conspiracy to commit a felony.
They were incarcerated in the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
House vandalized, burglarized on Hidden Lane
NORTH STAFFORD — The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a break-in that occurred Monday at Hidden Lane in the Rock Hill area of the county.
An investigation indicates that entry was gained to the house by breaking down a kitchen door with a concrete bird bath. Jewelry was missing from the home, police said.
Woman struck from behind in Mayfield
FREDERICKSBURG — A woman was struck from behind as she entered her vehicle in the Mayfield area on the night of Feb. 17, according to the Fredericksburg Police Department.
The 51-year-old resident was hit in the left side of her head by what she believed was a handgun. She ran to the nearest house to be assisted by its owner and to call 911.
The victim’s attacker is reported to be a tall black man in his early 20s. He was wearing all black clothing.
Nothing was stolen from the victim and she declined medical treatment.
