Woman not guilty in nose-slashing incident
STAFFORD — A jury on Tuesday found a woman not guilty of aggravated malicious wounding in Fredericksburg Circuit Court.
The incident stems from an altercation that took place last year when Brittany Nicole Carter nearly severed her then-boyfriend’s nose with a knife, police said.
Carter, 23, was acting in self-defense, her defense attorney said, and was pregnant at the time of the altercation on May 11, 2011.
The boyfriend, Richard B. Humphrey, required more than 45 stitches to his nose, according to evidence.
