Reader pleased with weight-loss tips, McDonald’s renovation
The tips that are mentioned on page 8 [in a recent Stafford County Sun] for losing weight for the New year are helpful to know. I would like to add a couple of tips to those mentioned; these tips have helped improve my own mood/behavior and that is by way of keeping a daily routine to help me eat properly by way of measuring the correct amount of foods that I choose to eat for lunch, dinner and breakfast.
I then keep a small journal where I write the amount of calories I have had for the day. I add all the fruits and vegetables to any meal so I have enough daily fiber added to the meals. Oh, I make sure to drink up to eight glasses of water daily by measuring the amount.
In many cases, I get hungry in the mid-morning; once again, I measure 4-8 oz. plain yogurt with half a banana to satisfy my hunger pains until lunch. I can always be flexible with the foods I eat, just be sure that it is measured before gulping! It takes some portion control and exercise. I just walk around the neighborhood. And, when I get a good night’s sleep I see that my body works wonders.
Additionally, the newly-renovated McDonald’s at Stafford Marketplace is bigger and has an inviting atmosphere to it, with more room inside and outside. I stop by there for a cup of coffee or just a healthy snack (yogurt). McDonald’s now has two windows for ordering at the drive-through and I like that.
