FALMOUTH — Iron Mountain, an information protection and storage service, will be moving soon into more than 140,000 square feet at the Virginia Gateway Distribution Center, built in 2007 and located at 2031 International Parkway.

The company boasts several Fortune 500 companies and will employ about 25 people, though the nature of those jobs is not clear at this time, said Supervisor Paul Milde, R-Aquia.

“The county has worked over many months to woo them here and we’re excited,” said Milde.

Office space in the existing building will be a “multimillion dollar build-out” with the potential to expand, he said.

The company covers lists services dealing with records management and shredding, data protection and recovery, digital services and software, intellectual property management, fulfillment services, and film and sound archiving.
