Local teen shines as entrepreneur

STAFFORD —  A local teen is making a name for himself supporting worthwhile causes.

Omri Glaser, 17, launched Om Tee, an organization that makes and sells T-shirts, donating all of the profits to charity.

Prior to that, Glaser started a company that makes DVDs of students demonstrating their athletic skills. That firm, OG Video, also custom-makes DVDs featuring anything requested by his clients.

Glaser, who attended Colonial Forge High School last school year, founded Om Tee in an effort to raise funds for Global Action for Children, an organization that helps orphans and other children who suffer the consequences of disease and war.

Om Tee’s products feature cartoon images of characters trying to deal with a sometimes bewildering and difficult world. Glaser made 40 shirts in his initial batch, and they sold out quickly. For the second round, he made 400 of the T-shirts, which he sells through word-of-mouth and online at omtee.com.

His motivation has earned him recognition, as well as a recent accolade as TeenUp award winner. The awards celebrate teens that make a difference in the world. The director of the awards, Michael Robert Evans, wrote the young-adult novel, “68 Knots.”
