STAFFORD — Sixteen area residents came to a Garrisonville Wawa early Thursday morning to join radio station Thunder 104.5 to sing on-air.
One of these 16 people, who visited the Wawa near Rosner Toyota, will be selected to go to Country Music Television’s Camp Nashville on May 21 through May 25 for free.
Camp Nashville is a fantasy camp in which one hundred people travel to Nashville to receive coaching from top artists, putting together and naming a band and opening an actual ticketed concert featuring Phil Vassar and Lady Antebellum at the Wildhorse Saloon.
The prize winner will be selected through a voting process – listeners will be invited to call in to the show Friday morning to vote for their favorite local artist. The artist with the largest number of votes in his or her favor will travel to Tennessee.
Voting begins Friday morning. If you want to vote, call the 104.5 studio at (540) 710-1045. To hear the contest winners before you vote, check out thunder1045.com. Each of the contestants was recorded live; their songs are now online for you to enjoy.
Voting ends Friday at 12 p.m. The person traveling to Camp Nashville will be announced at that time.
