STAFFORD — A Maryland woman was arrested following a fight with an employee at the Positive Image Salon in Stafford.

The incident took place at the hair salon on Dunn Drive at around 2 p.m. on Sunday, reported Stafford County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Bill Kennedy on Monday.

According to witnesses, Tracy Burton, 45, of District Heights, Md., had been asked to do something about her child’s loud behavior. Burton apparently was not flattered and a fight ensued.

Burton pushed the employee in the face. That carried the fight onto the pavement outside the shop, and Burton bit the employee’s finger, according to a police report.

The wound prompted a call to rescue workers and the victim was sent to Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg to “fix” the finger, Kennedy said.

Burton was charged with malicious wounding and placed in Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
