Stafford softball team takes bronze at tourney

STAFFORD — The 18U Post 290 Bombers posted a 3-2 record and captured Bronze in the 12-team field by defeating the River City Rippers (Md.) 2-1 and the Montgomery Village (Md.) Storm - “Yellow” 8-0 in an elimination round May 31.

Teams from Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania participated in PONY’s Northern Virginia Shootout held in Winchester, according to Bombers’ coach Mike Black.

Other teams participating from Virginia included the 16U Post 290 Bombers, Fire-N-Ice, Manassas Blaze 18U, VA Crushers, Zero Tolerance and Fauquier Freeze.
