The Mountain View High School boys’ tennis team has qualified for the Northwest Region tournament for the second straight year.

The Mountain View High School boys’ tennis team has qualified for the Northwest Region tournament for the second straight year. On Monday, the Wildcats edged Colonial Forge High School 5-2 in the semi-finals of the Commonwealth District tournament. Brendon Ackermann and Ben Hemenway teamed up for a win in doubles competition. They also won their singles matches. Brett Stones and Cameron Holmes also won in singles for Mountain View. Brian Chen and Andrew Nicolucci won their singles matches for Colonial Forge.

The Colonial Forge girls' soccer team has inched closer to wrapping up the regular season title in the Commonwealth District and with it the automatic berth to the upcoming Northwest Region playoffs.

On Monday the Eagles got goals from Jordan Zarone and Caitlyn Hickey in a 2-0 win over Albemarle High School. The Eagles are 11-0-1 overall and 9-0-1 in district competition.

The Colonial Forge boys' soccer team is on the verge of winning the district's regular season title. Heading into this week’s action the Eagles hold a three-game lead over Mountain View and Albemarle.

The best race is in baseball where North Stafford and Colonial Forge are tied with identical 8 and 3 marks heading into the final week of the regular season.
Last Friday Colonial Forge dropped a narrow 5-4 decision at Mountain View while North Stafford High School picked up a big road win at Albemarle, winning 7-5. Mike Bill and Nate Moore had two hits apiece for the Wolverines and Zach Miller scattered seven hits and struck out 10 to get the win on the mound. The regular season champ gets an automatic bid to the Northwest Region playoffs.
