STAFFORD — Mountain View High School softball player Ashley Cummings plans to sign a National Letter of Intent to play softball for Post University in Connecticut.

According to a press release, Cummings, a Wildcats pitcher, will accept a full tuition ride and scholarship to play for the Eagles in Waterbury.

Cummings will officially sign the letter of intent April 9.

Last year, NCAA Division I, II and III schools attempted to recruit Cummings, who paid visits to the schools prior to deciding on Post University. Cummings first began playing organized softball at the age of 10.

“…Throughout my softball experience I have learned valuable lessons….the importance of being part of something bigger than myself, friendship, dedication, loyalty and persistence,” she said.
