STAFFORD — Four Stafford County high school gymnastics teams competed Jan. 10 at the Glory Days Grill/Park View High School invitational gymnastics meet.
The competitors were divided into red and blue teams by school, depending on their previous scores. Stafford and Mountain View high schools were in the red division, as they held higher scores from previous competitions, and Colonial Forge and North Stafford were placed in the blue division.
The Stafford High team received first place with a score of 102.175. The Mountain View team followed with a score of 89 in eighth place. In the blue division, Colonial Forge’s team received a score of 95.1 in second place, and North Stafford’s gymnastic team placed seventh with a score of 77.55.
Mountain View’s Liza Pizoli placed first on vault, with a score of 9. Pizoli was followed by Sammy Krejdovsky, Kelsey Cooper and Kendall Rayha of Stafford with respective scores of 8.875, 8.75 and 8.7 in second, third and fourth places. Lindsay Carr of Colonial Forge placed second on the vault with a score of 8.8, followed by Colonial Forge’s Carolanne Kondos with a fifth place score of 8.25.
Carr received second place on bars with a score of 7.75. Kondos took third place with a 7.475. On the beam, Carr received third place with a score of 8.55, and on the floor routine in the blue division, she received second place with a score of 8.525.
Kelsey Cadow, of Stafford, earned a fourth-place spot on the floor routine.
Krejdovsky of Stafford High School placed fifth in the all around, with a score of 34, closely followed by Cadow in seventh place with a score of 32.975. In the blue division, Carr, of Colonial Forge, won an all around second place score, 33.625, also followed by Kondos, also of Colonial Forge, with a score of 31 in fourth place.
The next gymnastics meet will be the Varsity Girls Winterfest, an invitational meet held at Colonial Forge High School on Jan. 17.
