Local athlete Devon Lewis has been invited to travel with the AAU National Team this weekend at the Dutch Open in the Netherlands.
In February, Lewis, a Brooke Point High School sophomore and first-degree black belt from Power Kix in Stafford, captured a Bronze Medal at the U.S. Open. The event was held Feb. 12-15 in Las Vegas, hosting 59 countries and nearly 2,000 athletes.
Lewis defeated Mexico, Hong Kong, Australia and Belarus on her way to the medal rounds. She lost in the semi-finals in a hard-fought battle with an Australian in sudden-death overtime.
